QuickLaunch 2.0 Released For 8900 Curve/9000 Bold

The folks over at NikkiSoft have released to the BlackBerry masses version 2.0 of their QuickLaunch application for the 8900 Curve & 9000 Bold.  This comes out just a short time after it was released for the Storm 9530/9500.  If you purchased the app through a mobihand affiliate you will be able to update the app today.  If you purchased it through AppWorld, like me, you will have to wait for RIM to approve it which should take about a week.

One thing to keep in mind; if you originally purchased the app after April 1st the update is free, customers who purchased the app before April 1st have to pay $1.99, and first timers it will cost you $4.99.  Well worth it all around if you ask me.

Rundown after the jump.

Here is a rundown of the new features:

  • Backup / Restore Menu config, options and license key to .txt file – no more lost menu configurations
  • Built-in Screen Capture function
  • Device Reset
  • Ability to create custom Submenus
  • Display Current Temperature option
  • Integrated Google, Wikipedia and Dictionary.com search
  • Yahoo weather integration
  • Easier setup with popup list of installed applications to choose from
  • Add items alphabetically option
  • Scrolling via Volume buttons
  • 3 Font sizes to choose from
  • Launches more apps than previous version
  • Add QuickLaunch to System Menu option
  • Improved performance

If you have been able to upgrade leave a comment on your favorite feature of the update.  I can’t wait to get my hands on the update and put it through its paces, look for a review down the road.
