Adobe AIR and Flash 10.1 coming to an Android phone near you soon

A lot of great news coming out of MWC so far.  Adobe has announced that Adobe AIR is now available for Android devices.  This brings a great platform for the development of applications across multiple mobile platforms which also brings a consistency to the applications.

As for Flash 10.1 coming to Android, they have plans for that too.  In fact, their plans are bigger than Android.  They plan on releasing Flash Player 10.1 for WebOS, Symbian, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, and Android devices in the first half of 2010.

The video above is of Adobe AIR running on an Android device.   I am personally really excited about this news, I can’t wait until developers start producing applications in AIR for Android.  Bringing a consistency to mobile platforms with the look and feel of applications will be great for consumers, and this is one way of doing that.
