Amazon Kindle App for BlackBerry Released

Posted on 18. Feb, 2010 by in BlackBerry

Awhile back we told you that Amazon was working on a Kindle application for BlackBerry devices.  Today they have released said application for BlackBerry devices.  The application allows you to browse your Kindle books even when your Kindle is not with you.  The application uses Whispersync to make sure your page numbers, bookmarks, notes, and annotations are kept and viewable no matter what application you are using (PC, BlackBerry, Kindle etc.).  Pretty sweet!  The application is free to download, you just have to pay for the books.  Currently available on the BlackBerry 8520, 8900,9000 and 9700, Storm 95×0 and the 9630.

It appears the application is only available in the U.S. at this time.  There is a work around that should allow you to download the app if you are outside of the U.S. however.  All you have to do is register a U.S. address with your Amazon account and you should be good to go.  (Via Al/Bla1ze)

Point your BlackBerry browser to amazon.com/kindlebb to download the application and start reading your Kindle books.  If you want more information about the app head on over to Amazon.
