Motorola Backflip gets official, coming to AT&T on March 7th

Motorola and AT&T have officially announced the Motorola BACKFLIP.  The Backflip will launch on March 7th becoming AT&T’s first Android device.  The Backflip runs the MOTOBLUR variant of Android, has a 5MPcamera, Wi-Fi, 3G, 3.1 Hi-Res touchscreen display, and a very unique design.  The phone actually does what its name implies, it flips back onto itself.  The keyboard will always face outward on the back side of the phone with the screen facing outward on the front side, does that make sense?  It didn’t to me when I had a few minutes hands on at CES.  On the back side of the screen is also a little touchpad, similar to a mouse touchpad you would find on a laptop.  I found it awkward to use, but the Motorola rep assured me it was amazing once the learning curve was over.

Expect the Backflip to run you $99 after a $100 mail in rebate.  There is a video of the Backflip in action which you can view by clicking here.
