One of the coolest features that I used on my Nexus One was Google Maps Navigation. It is a free service provided by Google, that offers up turn-by-turn directions. Yesterday Mashable reported that Google has confirmed that they plan on bringing the free service to the iPhone in the future. How near of a future, we don’t really know at this point. Since the maps applications is built into the OS I would assume (and you know what they say about assuming things) that the update would have to come along with an OS update. With OS 4.0 slated to be released this summer, it is a viable theory.
How do you feel about this service coming to the iPhone? Obviously it is going to hurt other mobile turn-by-turn direction applications/companies. Will you still look at other options such as TeleNav and Garmin?
