There was an interesting article just sent in to us. The post is on the Twitter Mobile Blog discussing the Official Twitter for BlackBerry application. According to the post, Twitter worked directly with RIM on developing the application:
Working closely with RIM to deliver the official Twitter app has been a great experience and we are looking forward to bringing more and more Twitter innovation to BlackBerry.
This is a huge step for Twitter as they have relied solely on 3rd party developers to create applications to interact with their API library. One has to wonder if this means they are also working with other mobile platform developers to create official applications. What are your thoughts on this? Should Twitter start competing with the developers they have helped and relied upon to grow to what they are today? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
